Educating And Awaiting Leaders: Self-Contradictory
There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with our educational institutions and our concept of education if we are waiting for leaders. If we are awaiting them for the past many decades and we have continuously been ‘educating’ our younger generations at the same time then we are in a self-contradictory situation.
The widespread education and many Universities would have provided that precious commodity in plenty. Because this is exactly the purpose of educational institutions. But somewhere in the dark corners of our minds we are thinking that education is one thing and leadership is another. Who will reach out to those dark corners and remove the cobwebs? We. Ourselves.
To me the educational institutions (should have) aim(ed) at making every individual a leader with the power of critical and scientific thinking. Hence, we should either educate or await a leader to come. We should not do both. As otherwise it will be grossly self-contradictory.
