Those Who Are Already Studying

Our efforts at the education of underprivileged and deprived are commendable beyond imagination. All the postings which bring it to our notice are worth every bit of it. No doubt about it. Not all of us may be able to appreciate each of such emails – separately, though.

At the same time, let us spare a few minutes for those who are already studying. I don’t think everything is alright with them and what we are doing to them is the maximum that we could. We need to tell them what ultimately we want from them. I don’t think the civilizational goals are that clearly explained to them. I don’t think they are aware of the second stage of the Aligarh Movement. I don’t think they are being trained to really think on their own, de-conditioning themselves. I don’t think we are honing the capacities of scientific and rational approach to the extent we should.

A scientific and rational approach is the objective of education. Are we getting this by-product of education? If yes, we should be happy about it. Because it is worth the investment of time and resources. If not, we have to analyse the reasons for it and carry out some soul-searching. Can we do something about it? May be we should try.

On another note: I don’t know why I differ on so many issues. Why is it that I say something which is normally against, one word which I don’t like. I want to have a lot of friends. Like everybody does want and has. I don’t agree with you on many issues. I am in even more disagreement with my traditionally educated friends. But I know one thing, that I badly need more friends. Not without them and not without YOU – each ONE.

I feel like writing against so many articles and posts. Don’t have the time for that. I don’t know how to reach to the common man. Am not adept at reaching to the learned either. And am most afraid of reaching without reaching.
