Why Not The Non-issues?
A question springs to mind, namely, why to avoid discussing the non-issues? What is the big problem in doing so? Apparently, there isn’t much of a problem. I wish it was like that. It is not, unfortunately. It is, in fact, doubly dangerous. How? The time we devote for the non-issues we could have devoted the same time for the real issues and could have moved a bit ahead. Even this is not the problem. The bigger problem is that the non-issues we discuss may in fact take us farther away from the real issues. Let us not look at the time we devote for such issues. Let us also look at the time that these issues usurp and snatch away – which was due for the real issues. Even this is not that big a problem. The bigger problem is that the small amount of time wasted on non-issues may lead to the wastage of much bigger amount of time as a consequence – in a series of chain reaction. Because one thing leads to the other. Also, whatever we do and say will have a lasting impact on the younger generations. Even aberrations they might take as normal.
This is where I wish we develop an eye to see what is not happening more than seeing what is happening. This different thinking is the only rescue for us. Nothing will check the pace of decadence, otherwise. This is the law of nature. There is huge competition in the comity of nations. On the top of that there are the “terrific strategists”. What about our strategy? What about our planning? What about our vision and mission? Let us start somewhere. Let us start with a course on critical thinking in the AMU. Not that difficult. Don’t know whom to take this issue to.
