CONTROVERSY

This is a word that we have a bizarre relationship of love and hate with – both at the same time. Some of us try their best to steer clear of it and I would like to address them here. “The greatest risk of all is the riskless living.” Why not to be ready to pay the price of change?

The ones whom we admire the most and name them so frequently are the ones who never shied away from controversies. They stood for what they thought was right. The history vindicated them.

If they worried a lot about getting into controversies we wouldn’t have seen the changes that we did. The life would really have been miserable. The poverty of ideas would have been indescribable.

If we all want a change we have to come out of our comfort zones and feel the heat in the drawing rooms. It is a different type of struggle now. It is a struggle of minds and hearts. This battle doesn’t have to be fought under the scorching heat of a sun.

Let us not worry about controversies. Let us worry more about the truth and try our best to reach to it piercing all the superficial levels.

It hurts me a lot when someone says, “Don’t think. Just act”. I am speechless and dumbfounded. I have no arguments against this argument. I curse myself. And I feel like running to the streets and banging my head against a wall.

I have only one question here. What is the ‘right kind of education’? Will we ever reach to an answer without first exercising ourselves and giving others the right to think? I don’t think so. But then I shouldn’t think!

khaamah aNgusht ba dandaN hai isay keya likhiyay

We are not disheartened. The Faith we adhere to does not allow this.
